Redistricting Data (Public Law 94-171)
Tables
For purposes
of providing several planning data products DCA has prepared custom extracts
from the Georgia Redistricting Summary File Census data. These data became publicly
available on March 17. DCA is not otherwise officially engaged in any way in
the redistricting legislative process per se.

DCA
downloaded the base information that was processed from http://www2.census.gov/census_2010/01-Redistricting_File--PL_94-171/Georgia/
DCA followed
the steps in the following two documents to create an ACCESS 2007 database of
the Redistricting Data.

DCA created
queries for the following summary levels of geography: county, place, tract,
block group, block, state legislative district upper
and state legislative district lower. The DCA-created queries contain only
the following database columns (see table below also): P0010001, P0010002,
P0010003, P0010004, P0010005, P0010006, P0010007, P0010008, P0010009, H0010001,
H0010002, H0010003, POP100 (same as P0010001), HU100 (same as H0010001),
AREALAND, AREAWATR, as well as the necessary columns from the PL_Geo_Header ACCESS file to create the summary
level. There are several more
database columns available for your use. You can simply modify the queries to
add those you need.

an ACCESS Database with All Standard
Redistricting Data Tables and Selected Georgia Queries. Complete documentation on the PL
94-171 Summary File is available at http://www.census.gov/prod/cen2010/doc/pl94-171.pdf
(and is included in the
DCA download.) This ACCESS database will provide you with ALL of the standard
Redistricting data base tables as issued by the Census Bureau. DCA created
table relationships and queries to extract the custom tables for the levels of
geography as described above. You can modify these queries to add any or all of
the other data columns as needed.
