Kolomoki Mounds State Historic Park offers many opportunities for recreation, both indoors and outdoors, for people of all ages. Among them are boating, fishing, swimming, miniature golf, and the Kolomoki Museum.


Museum



The Museum tells the story and history of Kolomoki Mounds. It includes artifacts found on the site along with effigy pots excavated from the mounds. There is a 12-minute film that explains the story of the burial ritual. Visitors will also be able to view the inside of mound E. The museum is open year-round on the following hours:

Daily: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
The museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Boating and Canoeing





Fishing boat, pedal boat, and canoe rentals are available between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM at the Park Office. The rental rate is $4.00 for the first hour and $1.00 for each additional hour. The daily rental rate is $12.00. (Trolling motor rental is no longer available.) Pedal boat rentals are $2.00 per person for 30 minutes and are available year- round. Life jackets, paddles, and cushions are provided with all rentals. A Driver's License must be surrendered until the equipment is returned.


Fishing



The park has two lakes available for fishing. Both are open to the public from 7:00 AM to sunset. All fishermen age 16 or older must possess a valid Georgia fishing license. Both lakes have boat ramps and private boats are allowed with a 10 horsepower limit on the motor. Fishing docks are provided on both lakes. Fishing poles and equipment are available for loan at no charge from the park office. Children under 16 must be under adult supervision for rental.

Swimming



The swimming pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Admission is $3.00 per person per day. Lifeguards are on duty at all times when the pool is open. We ask that groups please call ahead. Season swimming passes are available. The camper swimming rate has been eliminated.


Miniature Golf




The 18-hole miniature golf course is available for guests to use year-round. The cost is $2.00 per game. Rental is available from the swimming pool in the summer and from the park office year-round.


Playgrounds are also available throughout the park for children.
