LUCA Registration

U.S. Census Bureau- Registration to Participate in LUCA and Registration for LUCA Technical Training

On August 7, 2007, the Census Bureau began mailing registration forms to the highest elected official of local governments inviting them to participate in the LUCA program. Local governments must complete and return those forms to register with the Census Bureau to directly participate in LUCA. Remember that November 19, 2007 is the last day to register with a guarantee of 120 calendar days to complete a review. And April 4, 2008 is the cut-off date for postmarks on returning LUCA packages with a guarantee of processing by the US Census Bureau. The Census Bureau will also send and receive invitations, managing enrollment, for all LUCA Technical Training in Georgia.

State of Georgia- Registration for RDC and State Technical Assistance

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs and the State’s 16 Regional Development Centers are offering technical assistance to all local governments participating in the LUCA program. Register below for direct technical assistance during your LUCA review. Remember you must register with the Census Bureau to participate in LUCA; registration for DCA and RDC assistance is optional.

             Registration closed December 31, 2007.

Participation / Registration Strategy

Georgia local governments can benefit greatly by working together on their LUCA review. Since most E911 systems are countywide cities and counties could save time and effort by working together to review and complete their address lists and map updates in a single submission. All they need do is agree beforehand to work cooperatively; cities participating in such consolidated reviews with their county should not register with the Census Bureau to participate in LUCA. Counties will receive in their LUCA package an address list and maps covering the whole county, including their cities.
